100 Things about ME (trina)

So Shannon did this on her blog- So I thought I'd give it a shot :o)

1. I will always have time for elderly people

3. Being a mother has been the highlight of my life
4. Marrying my husband, Jamie... has been the reward of my life.
5. Cell phones annoy me.. I also hate it when someone sits on the toilet in a public bathroom and talks on the cell phone. I was in the stall and I thought this chick was talking to me. She said "What are you doing?" And I said.. "the same thing as you." And then it got really quiet.
6. I (not so much just me.. but a group of us) put ex-lax in a brownie once and gave it to a kid in our class. It was actually for the basketball team- but they wouldn't eat it. Finally we got this one kid to eat it. I was so worried that maybe we over dosed him that I couldn't sleep for days. Luckily he survived.
7. I almost drove through my High school doors with my friend Heathers car. Somehow I got the Gas and break mixed up.. I was inches away from breaking the glass doors! And somehow when I was backing up I Parallel parked between two trees and got stuck. I had to get someone to help me out. While teachers and students looked on...
8. I always end up spending a ridiculous amount of money when I go shopping.. and come home with completely unnecessary but totally necessary things.
9. I always have to sleep on the side of the bed farthest away from the door. You know in case burglars come in during the night.
10. I am a child of god
11. I am a Christian
12. I am afraid of needles, snakes, clowns, creepy crawlies.. birds
13. I am awesome, seriously
14. I am deeply in love with my husband
15. I am directionally challenged. I get lost easily
16. Other people get lost easily when I'm in the car- even when I'm not in charge of directions- I'm cursed.
17. I am not afraid to speak in front of large groups of people (as long as I know what I’m talking about)
18. I am very impatient. Once I decide I want something, I need to do/get it ASAP.

21. I can tell when people are lying to me, I just probably wont inform you that I know... I just let it happen, kinda entertaining..
22. I can’t handle hang-overs - no matter what I do, it takes me 24 hours to feel “normal” again.
23. I can’t live without my DVR…well, I bet I could, but it would be hard
24. I cannot stand to have unpolished toe nails. In fact any woman with toe nails that do not have polish on them pretty much creeps me out. I don’t know why but ….just put some polish on them.
25. I can't handle anything grape flavor- yuck yuck yuck
26. I cry at the drop of a hat, but I'd rather cry easily than not at all.
27. I dislike stupid lawsuits. Duh coffee is hot, did you really need to sue McDonald’s for your own stupidity? Fast food does make you fat but they don’t make you eat it, or if you eat in moderation, you won’t get fat – don’t blame the food for your sorry self not getting up and getting some exercise.
28. I do silly things when I'm half sleeping- I carried my bed mattress down the steps for my mom one time when she yelled up "where are the keys" To me it sounded like... "get out of bed.. take everything off your bed.. and carry it down the steep flight of stairs" .

42. I hate March (besides the fact that it's Jamie's birthday month) I think it's nature's way of toying with us. It tricks you into thinking spring is right around the corner... that tomorrow could be warm, that you will soon be able to feel your finger and toes... and EVERY year I fall for it... Then we get hit with the coldest, nastiest weather of the season.
43. I hate Politicians talking about "moral values".. give me a break
44. I HATE when people swear in public... especially when Children are around... keep your potty mouth to yourself! Grrr
45. I have 4 nephews.. and one niece- I wish I could spend more time with them!(oh and one more on the way)

50. I have really great in-laws (and no I'm not just putting this here because some of them read this).
51. I have to sleep with a blanket. Always. It can be hotter heck, but I have to have a blanket. I don’t have to be completely covered up, but at least part of me does.
52. I cannot sleep if my hands are exposed. They are either under my pillow, under my head, under a blanket. Doesn’t matter. They are just not out in the open all bare and vulnerable. That is creepy.

Long time no blog

Okay.. so the laundry from last time hasn't really listened to me :( Maybe that means it's Jamies Job? Put the smack down- and get it done? :o)

I'm going to share a embarrassing story that happen to me awhile back...
Okay- Story... I was at a child care conference and a badger game was on at the same time- I didn't want to hear the score of the game... so I had my head phones on whenever there was a break. (pathetic I know)... here it goes

I just happened to have to walk up 4 flights of stairs for this class- I was still listening to my Ipod.. and Eye of tiger came on... you know the ROCKY song? I really couldn't help myself.. I made it up the first flight of stairs... then I just had to do it, no one was around- So I ran up the stairs (feeling pretty good about myself) - finally I reached the top!! I lifted my hands up and then threw in some big punch moves, I'll admit.. it felt pretty darn good- until the janitor caught me. I shouted at her because my music was so loud. I tried to explain in a very loud voice what I was doing- unfortunately she didn't speak English.

Since then- I have taken the song of my Ipod- it's just so temping to do that... don't you all agree? I think I might go do it right now- just for fun :)

Okay- I'm back.. *heavy breathing*

Anyways- life is pretty normal around here. Kierstin so funny these days. And is obsessed with saying "daddy" lately. It's absolutely beautiful... she's absolutely beautiful. We took her to see Santa on Monday night. She was NOT a happy camper!

Surprising she has been pretty good with the Christmas tree- It's still standing =) She lifts up the tree skirt and looks for the "kitty" it's so funny.

Heather and Stacey are coming tonight-be here any time now. Jamie when to meet them in the Dells- while me and Kierstin stayed here. (darn snow.. and freezing weather). She helped me put clothes away.. and played in the bathtub... without water... for about an hour. I had to drag her out of there. I'm not sure why she likes the bathroom so much? Brushing her teeth and taking a bath are like her favorite things to do!

Okay... enough is enough

Dear Laundry,

I officially declare war on you. You are trying to take over my house. You and your piles. Well, I am sick of the piles! There are piles of folded clothes that are clean, piles of unfolded clean clothes, piles of "for sure" dirty clothes, piles of clothes that might be dirty, and then piles that I have no idea where they came from or what they are. Enough is enough! I will drown in your filth if I do not take action now. So here's my plan. If you are on the floor, you will go into the washing machine, no questions asked. I don't care if I will be wasting water and detergent. It is a price I am willing to pay. I might have to put away more clean clothes, but if my only pile is a ginormous clean one, then at least I can contain it in one area and there is no mystery. I love suspense and surprises, but in a good book or movie NOT from a spaghetti stained pair of jeans, thank you very much.

Besides that- not much going on here... Seriously.... Kierstin is at my parents place until Thursday. I miss that little stinker like crazy. But, it's nice having a little break. I think we might go to a movie tonight-- something that doesn't happen very often! It is very weird being at home and she's not here.

I'm making Thanksgiving dinner this year! Hopefully it turns out-- if not we can always have pizza.. or eggo waffles :o)

Pumpkin

Hello! What a great weekend! And what great weather!!! We took Kierstin to a pumpkin patch and let her pick out some pumpkins! She enjoyed picking up the little pumpkins.. and got pretty mad that she couldn't pick up the bigger ones! But.. boy did she try! She was pretty fascinated by the turkeys near the pumpkins and was trying to tell us that they were "big bird"!! You know- I often wonder why she has to like the scariest fictional character out there? I hate birds- and often think how scary it would be if Big bird was real. Eeeek

Sunday- we took Kierstin trick-or-treating! She was a little pumpkin! She was the most adorable little pumpkin :o) She was pretty excited to spend so much time outside! We took her to a few houses.. I think she was a little confused because all of her friends where dressed up so funny =)

Kierstin was in a Super good mood all weekend long- I'm assuming her teeth have came through, finally!!!! Last week wasn't the best for her.. but she's back to her happy crazy self! Speaking of crazy- She now has a bump/scrape on each side of her forehead- and one in the middle. There is always something with that little one!

Okay- I absolutely love Thursdays! First the work week is almost over... and tomorrow if Friday! And second it's Grey's Anatomy day :o) I know.. pretty pathetic I get so excited for a T.V show!

Kierstin is still waking up more at night. She is actually letting me rock her back to sleep (something she didn't like before) I do the rocking and she does the singing "baby... baby... baby". I love it.

Oh and we are still defeated if anyone was wondering :( Although we did come close each game.. we just couldn't pull out a win. Next week ;)

So a few nights ago Jamie mentioned that Kierstin had been sleeping through the night lately- I guess he should have knocked on wood! The last few nights she's been up a lot- and up early! Today she was up at about 6 (which is early for our little one) I thought that meant she would take some good naps today-- um nope! She's been running around the house being the little ham that she is :o) Maybe because she's officially one now she doesn't need as much sleep at night? ha I think that means that me and Jamie need more sleep :o) We were both so pooped we went to bed at 8:30 last night- man we are getting old ;)

Kierstin has developed a pretty good vocabulary- she is saying so many words these days! Kitty, Ball, Justin, stinky, Puppy, Daddy, Momma, Grandpa, Heather, Hello, Baby, Big Bird, book, duck, bite, Cheese (as in smile for the camera cheese- she actually hates eating cheese), more (she says more whenever told to say please or when she really wants something) unfortunately she has learned to say NO- and says it when she's doing something naughty! Sounds something like this no no no no no.... She knows it's naughty- but continues to do it anyway.

We have a volleyball game tonight- lets hope we win- we are the defeated team- no I didn't mean undefeated (meaning we have been defeated/beat every week) :( This could be the day- I'm feeling Lucky :o)

Oh almost forgot to mention that Kierstin took a very hard digger into the corner of the wall on Monday night!!! She got a huge bump on her forehead (which was the size of a golf ball). It has gone down- She looked like one tough cookie though. She handled it pretty well, a lot better than Jamie and I.

So Kierstin is one- Already :( I made it through the day without shedding too many tears! Her day was wonderful- nice weather and great company! Thank you all for the birthday wishes-- She loves you all so very much!

Just posting a few pictures! The first one- Kierstin had a sleepover.. so her and Mollie were up all night causing trouble :D No actually they are so sweet to each other (besides the hair pulling and biting that happens every once in awhile..haha)

Jamie and I went to the Badger game on Saturday! Was fun! Great Game!

Puppy Love

Kierstin didn't want to go to bed last night so she stayed up and had a fruit bar with Jamie

Yep.. She's crazy!

Kierstin is almost 11 months old now! Do you know what that means? It means she is only few short weeks shy of being a whole year old! Soon she won't be a baby any more. She'll be a toddler, then a child, then a surly teenager! Whoa... My whole life is flying by already. but for now, she is still my baby! My sweet, sweet cuddly baby. When Jamie get home from a long day at work, Kierstin just loves to just nestle against Jamie with her head resting against his head. It's the sweetest thing!

Kierstin is fascinated by everything these days, and is desperate to grab everything. Once she gets a hold of something, first she taste it, then she shakes it, and if she doesn't like it she chucks it across the room.

She has cemented her likes and dislikes in these last four weeks, and unlike most of the previous ten months, there have been a lot more tears. She get very frustrated because her brain is working at a faster pace than her body is, and when things don't go the way she wants them to she gets very angry and crys and crys.

She also cries now when we take something away from her that she is playing with. Inconsolably. It's very sad, really. The funniest thing about the crying now is that she has figured out how she should try to use crying to her benefit. It's just so clear when she is trying to manipulate me or her daddy. It's probably not going to be a real issue until she's a little older though. Right now it's pretty easy to switch gears when she doesn't get her way.

Kierstin has managed, somehow, to get even cuter this month. I'm not sure how--she already was the cutest baby I've ever seen--but she's done it. She makes so many new faces now--She gets more expressive every day.

So many days I look at Kierstin with wonder and joy and just can't believe that she is here, that she is ours--our daughter! It's just the best thing that has ever happened to us, even better than when we found each other and fell in love (and that was pretty damned awesome--still is--so that's really saying something).

I'm probably forgetting about a million things that she does that are new. But I've gushed enough. Kierstin is the best thing in the universe right now, and I love her, oh god how much I love her! It's funny, but just like "grief" wasn't a big enough word to describe how I felt about losing my brother, "love" isn't a big enough word to describe how I feel about Kierstin. It's a big, big love and it gets bigger every day.

I can’t tell you how much I hate mosquitoes and how much mosquitoes just LOVE me. I’m like a mosquito magnet. They are surrounding our house! Just waiting to sneak in and attack me! One landed on Kierstins forehead the other day and I dove to save her and ended up landing on my sunglasses... and I totally missed the thing! And a second later it got me in the forehead! grrrrr.... Luckily, Fall is approaching so they soon will be gone (until next year).

Jamie is so funny! I think he thinks that these mosquitoes are coming to attack us (and he might be right)! Did you know that Mosquitoes are the most dangerous insect in the world. They kill more people than any other creature on this planet... so I've heard. Some got in the house the other night and when he woke up he said he couldn't sleep because he felt they were all over him. And last night he made sure our bedroom door was shut so they couldn't get at us! He said we couldn't "defend ourselves" when we were sleeping. He made sure Kierstin's door was shut :)

So Jamie decided he needed a Wii... Okay I also want one :o) So he ordered one off ebay over the weekend. I'm looking forward to beating him :) We should be getting it sometime this week! They have this dance game that looks very interesting-- I need to learn some new moves :o)


This past weekend I went to Rochester for my Friend Emilys Wedding. She was beautiful as always! Got to see a lot of friends I haven't seen in awhile so that was nice. Kierstin and Jamie stayed home (Kierstin had a bit of a cold) we didn't think it was fair to make her take the long trip again! It took a lot longer to get there because of the traffic. Besides Kierstin wanted to watch the badger game with her dad. They had a fun time together.. and Kierstin wasn't to naughty :)


We headed to Little America on Labor day and took the train ride again! Kierstin thought every animal was a "Kitty"... there was one that she called a "puppy". She loved it! I loved it!

Oh and I heard her say big bird! Finally.. She has said it for Jamie before. I heard her talk to big bird in her crib the other night through the monitor!

I'm looking forward to football season to start tonight!!!!!
We want to get Kierstin a little farve jersey. I know crazy because we are viking fans and all... but we think she might be a packer fan like her crazy grandma Kathy.
